Being is a community for people who want to live well together. Attentive gatherings, honest conversations, practical knowledge, and habits that make daily life worth noticing.
A platform for grounded practice, collective change.
Being gathers people who want to live with more attention, more honesty, and more genuine community. Through the Living Well Initiative, we run programmes built around the art of daily life.
We connect to learn. We learn to live better. Together.
Being is a non-profit. Every programme is funded by the people who believe in it. Every pound goes back into building spaces where people can grow together.
The name says everything.
Being: to exist, to be present, to be fully here. In Chinese, the character 在 (zài) is composed of two elements: 才, meaning talent and potential, the seed of what we are; and 土, meaning soil and ground, the conditions and people around us. One is cause. The other is condition. Nothing grows in isolation.
This is Being’s founding insight. We are not isolated individuals pursuing wellness alone. To live well is a practice that unfolds with others, through the ordinary, repeatable acts of daily life. A meal made carefully. Coffee brewed slowly. A conversation that goes somewhere real. These are not trivial. They are the soil.
Our vision is a world where this is understood. Where the way we gather, eat, learn, and rest together is taken as seriously as any other project of human flourishing. We are building that world, quietly and consistently, in London.
Seeing → Knowing → Doing → Being
These are the beliefs that shape everything we do.
In a world optimised for speed, choosing to slow down and be attentive is an act of clarity. We build spaces where true effectiveness is prioritised over efficiency and busyness.
Everything we do is designed to make people more present and aware: to themselves, to others, and to the small, important things that actually make life good.
Living well is not a solo project. The people we gather with shape how we see the world. We take that seriously.
From these beliefs, we build around four pillars: the activities where attention, presence, and community most naturally meet. Each pillar is a living laboratory for everything Being believes.
The daily ritual. A cup brewed with attention is an act of presence.
Making with hands. Bread, pastry, the patience of dough.
Handmade baked goods. Thoughtfully made, always shared.

We are a collective of visionary young people united by a shared conviction: that how we live ourselves is how we lead others. Rooted in diverse disciplines, devoted to building a new kind of educational platform for self-growth and collective change. We don’t just study these ideas. We live them, test them, and bring them back to the people around us.
I graduated from UCL, trained as a translator, and spent years learning to live well from first principles. I make espresso carefully. I cook for people I love. I believe that the way we eat and gather and learn together is not incidental to a good life. It is the living itself.
Being is my answer to a question I kept arriving at: how do we live well, sustainably, and together? I built this platform because I needed it. Then I realised others did too.
“Living well is not a privilege. It is a foundation. And because I have felt what it does, I would pay it forward for more to come.”
